Richard Robbins

Richard Robbins is known for his ‘intense and thrilling’ performances of Bach. He recently won plaudits for his portrayal of the Madwoman in Britten’s Curlew River, with Classical Source describing his voice as possessing ‘irresistible baritonal softness’ and his acting to be ‘expertly judged.’ 

Richard is preparing for collaborations with Baroque group Ensemble Hespiri and pianists Victor Lim and Alexander Soares this summer. In the autumn, he will be returning to Handel House for concerts and taking up the position of Head of Choral Music at Shrewsbury School. 

Nicholas Madden

Nicholas Madden was born and grew up in Dunedin, New Zealand. Alongside singing as a chorister at St Paul’s Cathedral in Dunedin and with the New Zealand Youth Choir, Nicholas also had a keen interest in cricket, missing out on a career in sports due to injury. He studied biochemistry at the University of Otago before moving to the UK in 2005 to sing as one of the Tenor Lay Clerks at Ely Cathedral and to pursue a freelance career as a soloist and ensemble singer.

Ronald Samm

Ronald Samm was born and grew up in Trinidad, West Indies. He studied singing and piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, followed by postgraduate study at the Royal Northern College of Music and the National Opera Studio.

Tom Robson

Tom trained at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and studied with Brian Parsons and Janice Chapman. 

Opera appearances include Donizetti ​Lucia di Lammermoor (Nederlandse Reisopera), Bizet Carmen, Puccini Tosca, Verdi Otello, Cover Martinez in Lord Berners Le Carosse du Saint-Sacrament (Dorset Opera), Rinuccio in Puccini Gianni Schicchi (Park Opera) & Cover Simon Stimson in Ned Rorem Our Town (Guildhall Opera School).

James Way

Born in Sussex, tenor James Way was winner of 2nd Prize in the 62nd Kathleen Ferrier Awards at the Wigmore Hall. He was awarded the 2016 Simon Sandbach Award from Garsington Opera, the ‘most promising singer’ award at the Dean and Chadlington Singing Competition and is a former Britten-Pears Young Artist. James studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Susan Waters, where he is supported by the Guildhall Trust, the Drake Calleja Trust, Countess of Munster Trust, the Behrens Foundation and the Mario Lanza Foundation.

Peter Auty

Peter Auty is established as one of Britain’s leading tenors. He made his professional début at Opera North in 1998/9 and returned in 2001/02 as Rodolfo in their much acclaimed production of La Bohème.

Peter Auty was a company principal of the Royal Opera, Covent Garden from 1999 until 2002 where he covered several major roles and had the opportunity of working with many of the world’s leading singers and conductors. He returned as guest to sing the roles of Malcolm in Macbeth and Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor.

James Geer

Hailing from Sussex, James studied at Magdalen College, Oxford, where he sang as an Academical Clerk in the College Choir; at Trinity College of Music and on the Opera Course at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, graduating in 2008. While at college James won numerous scholarships and competitions, including the Morag Noble Award, the Catto Scholarship and the Principal’s Award for the outstanding student performance of the year.

Adrian Thompson

London-born Adrian Thompson is an artist of extraordinary versatility with a wide-ranging opera, concert and recital repertoire of works from the renaissance to the present day. He trained at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he is now a professor of vocal studies.
