Carols for Choir and Audience

London Concert Choir returns to Holy Trinity, Sloane Square, John Betjeman’s “cathedral of the Arts and Crafts movement”, for its seasonal concert of carols for choir and audience.

Under Music Director Mark Forkgen, the choir offers a mix of familiar Christmas hymns and less well-known seasonal music, old and new. The audience is invited to join in the best-loved carols, so the evening is as much shared singing as concert performance.

Martyn Noble, the choir’s principal accompanist, plays the organ. A former Sub-Organist (and Acting Director of Music) at HM Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace, he has played for Classic FM’s Carols from Buckingham Palace and for music at the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and the Coronation of King Charles III.

Holy Trinity’s richly decorated interior makes a natural setting for this repertoire: candlelit colour, a generous acoustic, and the particular warmth of voices raised together at the turning of the year.
